Learning about owning a business

This week we played a game pretending that we owned our own hot dog stands. We learned about expenses, revenue and profits. We even got to wear hats! It was so much fun!

Finally planting!

We had so much fun on Monday planting our garden! Thanks again to Lytle Feed and Seed for providing us with seeds for our garden! Next step-watering and using our compost to fertilize!

Posters about our garden

Last Friday we started our posters and today we finished them!  On the posters we put all of the information we researched and a few pictures about the plants we are putting in our garden. Those plants include National Pickles, Chinese Cabbage and broccoli.  We researched how much water and how deep, how far apart and when to harvest them. It rained today so we are going to plant on Monday.

Genius Hour-Gardening

In week one we made a big list of supplies we are going to need and things we would have to do all year for our garden.

In Week 2 we were finding the perimeter and the area of the garden so we could know how many plants we could have in each row and how spaced out they can be.

Today we had to pull weeds out so the plants will grow faster and the soil will be prepared for the plants.

Thank you to Lytle Feed and Seed for donating see for our garden.  Planting starts next week!
