It's the last day of construction! Tomorrow...presentations and voting for the best model!!!

Solar System Project-- Work Day 3

Students continue work on their projects.  Paint, glue, yarn, play-dough, construction paper...what creative minds!!!  Let's see what some of the conversations sound like today...

"Stars look like dots from Earth so we should make them look like dots on our poster."

"We should have poked the hole over there.  Our planets are too close together."

"Our goal is to hang the rocky planets today and the gas planets tomorrow."

"How are we going to get the yarn to stay on the planets?"

"We need to paint the planets again and make better labels tomorrow."

"How are we going to hang the planets when we're done?"

"We need to paint the planets and put them on our poster."

Solar System Project--Work Begins!

Students began working on their models of the solar system today.  The groups chose what type of model they wanted to produce; 3D, mobile, or poster.  We can't wait to see the final products!

Solar System Project Plans

Students are working on their plans for their final products.  Students used computers and iPads to look up ideas for their projects and are working to create a materials list and a plan for their project.  We love Beginning With the End in Mind!!!

Solar System Projects

Students have been working hard to learn about the planets of the solar system.  They have created posters that display the order of the planets in relation to the sun and fun facts for each planet!!
